Lusting for October...

Anxiously awaiting October, I've noticed that I mark my days for my kids birthdays, holidays and book releases.πŸ‘“

Books I'm looking forward to in October? Career of Evil and The Rose Society!  I keep searching for spoilers, but can't find any.

Le sigh.

I've really been enjoying the series (J.K Rowling), that did surprise me a bit since I don't consider myself a big fan of crime/detective type writing.  However, I really enjoy her writing in general.  I did resist her books in the beginning (beginning meaning Harry Potter) out of principle though and wouldn't read them for years due to my loyalty to Animorphs (story for another post), but I'm so glad I did.

I actually don't own a paper copy of the Cuckoo's Calling or The Silkworm, I have them on audio books.  I'm a big Audible whore and our love affair has been on going for many, many years now.  They should sponsor me instead of some of the Youtubers that you can totally tell are reading from a script and sound like cardboard cutouts.  Or maybe not, if I had to say all they stuff it seems they are required to say, I too would probably sound like a robotπŸ˜–.

But hey, who am I to judge?

When I finally do get around to posting reviews, I will note where or not I listening to the book or actually read the print. Sometimes I only listen, sometimes I only read and sometimes it's the combination of the two.  To me a really good or really bad narration can flavor a book.

For example, had I listened to The Thought Pushers before I actually read the book , I would have never continued the series, let alone  purchased anymore of the books.  And I would have truly missed out because I love the books and the sarcasm that the narrator could not convey.

So, for the audiobooks, I'll review the book and the narration.  Or at least that's the plan.

But until next time my loves, remember, it's okay to be a book nerd!
